Welcome to Empower Youth Success 2026!
Get ready for an exciting few days of innovative learning, engagement, networking, and fun. Whether this is your first time or you’re a returning attendee, we’re so glad you’re here to help make this event unforgettable!
Thursday April 30, 2026 3:30pm - 5:00pm EDT
The purpose of this session is to review NYSED’s expectations around 21st CCLC field trip planning which has recently been updated and streamlined in an effort to home in on the critical elements that will be considered when approving a field trip request. Funds to pay for memorable learning experiences can be money well spent. As stewards of 21st CCLC funding, it behooves us to put it to the best use possible, as field trip expenses can be substantial given transportation and other costs.

A panel of our 21st CCLC peers will help set the stage by sharing examples of field trips they have embarked on that were truly educational and memorable for all involved. The hope is that participants will not only gain knowledge about how to submit a field trip request that is approvable but also will be inspired to “think outside of the box”; to expand the thought processes in choosing a destination that is aligned with and enhances your existing grant programming and how to plan pre and post activities and reflections that make the most of that experience.  Presentations and conversations within this space will invite and engage participants to share effective practices and strategies to strengthen their unique, valuable resources, allowing program staff, parents, volunteers, and partners to combine their skills and efforts to co-create impactful experiences that leverage community assets.
