About me
Jolynn Thaickal is an Assistant in Education Improvement Services, within the Office of Student Support Services at the New York State Education Department (NYSED), since 2016. She holds a BA in Pre-Medicine and Psychology from The University at Albany, a MA in Educational Psychology, concentration in Measurement and Evaluation, from New York University, and a MS. Ed in Elementary Education from City College of NY. She has almost 15 years of experience as former a New York City elementary public-school teacher in Bronx, NY. At NYSED, she joined the School Safety Team and provided technical assistance and professional development around the Dignity of All Students Act and School Safety and Educational Climate reporting, in collaboration with the NYS Center for School Safety. The past 9 years, her work centered on supporting the 21st CCLC grant with programmatic/fiscal/evaluation components, supporting NYSED’s oversight of four subcontractors and 151 subgrantees, and conducting site monitoring visits with the 21st CCLC Technical Resource Centers. She was also the SEA Lead for 21st CCLC STEM initiatives between the US Department of Education and National Aeronautics and Space Administration and Institute of Museum and Library Services.
