About me
Before joining NCCS, Jorge served as a Community School Director in New York City, most notably at C.S. 211 in the Bronx, located in the country's most impoverished congressional district. Inheriting a 42% chronic absenteeism rate, he led a systems-based, slow-scaling community school strategy that reduced chronic absenteeism by 30% over five years and raised average daily attendance above 95%. His leadership strengthened resource coordination, student supports, family engagement, and year-round mental-health services, positioning the school as a Bronx flagship. Since 2020, Jorge has led national technical assistance at NCCS, supporting districts, BOCES, and schools to strengthen community school systems, attendance, and cross-sector collaboration nationwide.
